Galetech Measurement Services are delighted to share a major milestone from our long-term partner ZX Lidars. Their newly launched ZX 300e has just achieved world-first IEC classification over the range 21–200 m, raising the bar for ground-based wind lidar performance.

What’s new with ZX 300e
IEC 61400-50-2 classification achieved across 21 m to 200 m - independently verified by test sites from DNV, GeoNet, and Pavana. This is the widest IEC-classified vertical range yet seen in a single ground lidar.
The device passes the full suite of IEC conditions, proving that environmental variables don’t meaningfully degrade accuracy or introduce uncertainty.
Enhanced algorithm suite: improved wind data, direction sensing, turbulence intensity (cup-equivalent), and higher availability.
Low power operation: only ~44 W consumption (even at - 25 °C) - ideal for off-grid deployments and extended autonomy.
A modern, secure web-based user interface for both local and remote access, multi-user control, and system health monitoring.
Performance verification beyond 200 m: ZX also validated fleet performance out to 300 m using a hybrid “mast + lidar” (Midar) method. Data availability from 20–300 m ranged from ~94 % to almost 99.8 %, with correlation slopes within ±1–1.1 %, and R² values > 0.985.
Why this matters for Galetech & our customers
With this new benchmark, ZX 300e reinforces its role as a finance-grade, IEC-compliant tool for wind resource assessment, power curve measurements, site calibration, and operational validation.
The breadth of its performance (21–200 m, plus verified performance to 300 m) allows more flexible deployment, even in complex terrain or where tall masts are impractical.
Its low power draw is a big plus for remote or off-grid installations, where powering instrumentation is often a limiting factor.
The user interface enhancements mean better operational uptime, reduced maintenance burden, and more transparency into system health from our team or your team.
Final thoughts
At Galetech, we believe in aligning with partners who lead the way in technology. The ZX 300e represents a meaningful leap forward in ground-based wind lidar performance, giving us stronger foundations to support high-accuracy wind campaigns and power performance projects. We look forward to bringing this next-generation capability to your projects.
