At Galetech, we are proud to contribute to the renewable energy sector by providing precise wind measurement data that help drive sustainable energy projects. Today, we’re sharing an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at our recent 80m met mast installation—a project that highlights the expertise, precision, and teamwork that go into ensuring accurate data collection.
The Project: Installing a Met Mast and 2 x ZX300 LIDARs
Our recent installation involved an 80m met mast in conjunction with two ZX300 LIDARs. One LIDAR will remain beside the met mast for 3-6 months to validate the readings from the mast and also to measure wind speeds above the height of the mast. In parallel, the second LIDAR will be moved to another part of the site to reduce the wind flow uncertainty across the wind farm site. This approach helps ensure precise wind measurement which is critical for a precise wind farm energy yield assessment.
At Galetech, safety, expertise, and precision are key as we continue to support the renewable energy sector to create clean, green energy for years to come.
What Does It Take to Complete Such a Project?
Here are some of the key steps that go into making it all happen:
Coordinating Complex Logistics: Remote sites often pose unique challenges, from transportation to site access. Our team meticulously plans every detail to ensure smooth operations.
Assembling and Securing Advanced Equipment: Setting up a met mast requires not just technical expertise but also careful attention to design, installation and safety, ensuring the equipment is robust and reliable.
Prioritising Safety Protocols: Safety is at the heart of everything we do. Each team member follows stringent protocols to guarantee that every aspect of the installation is carried out safely.
Our Commitment to the Renewable Energy Sector
At Galetech, we take pride in supporting the renewable energy sector with the tools and expertise needed to make informed decisions about wind energy. With safety, precision, and innovation as our guiding principles, delivering clean sustainable energy to communities worldwide.
